Philosophy and theology both explore the most fundamental questions: the nature of existence, the possibility of a supreme being, and what gives life meaning. Through readings ranging from the Bible and Augustine’s Confessions to Kant and Kierkegaard, you will reflect on the relationship between faith and reason, and consider whether a clear line truly separates philosophy from theology.

In this first module, you will read some highlights from the Old and New Testament. By close reading, you will discover the literary depth of the stories in Genesis and Exodus. Discuss the meaning of that most magnetic figure, Christ. With new eyes, you will take a look at some psychological treasures of
the Greatest Book of all times.

Jan 31st: Genesis 1-11.

Feb 7th: Genesis 12-50.

Feb 14th: Exodus.

Feb 21st: Gospel according to St. Matthew.

Feb 28th: Gospel according to St. John.

Mar 7th: Letter to the Romans.
